Our mission is simple. We make food that saves lives; more than 26 million lives in the last 15 years.
But in a heartbeat, the US foreign aid freeze put a stop to much of that work. Two of our production lines went completely silent for the first time ever.
What is the impact? Four of our humanitarian aid partners shared that, right now 297,000 children are on the brink of starvation in Ethiopia, Chad, Niger, South Sudan, Somalia, and Nigeria, because of funding disruption.
With your help today, we can get life-saving Plumpy’Nut into their hands.
Just $50 provides a full treatment to save one child. Every dollar you give to fuel Edesia’s production lines will be matched, turning generosity into survival.
In Somalia, where droughts, inflation, and conflict have fueled one of the highest rates of acute malnutrition, 2-year-old Ruman from Jowhar was among the children suffering. Her mother, Nimco, struggled to feed her family of five, often going without meals on the hardest days. When Ruman’s health rapidly declined with weight loss, lethargy, and irritability, her mother sought help. The International Medical Corps diagnosed her with life-threatening severe acute malnutrition. Ruman was prescribed Edesia’s Plumpy’Nut, provided through contributions to Edesia, and her condition improved within weeks. Hope was back into their lives.
For $50, we can produce and ship 1 box of Plumpy’Nut that helps to save one child, taking them from the brink of starvation to relative health in 6-8 weeks
For our Children Can’t Wait campaign to keep ALL Edesia production lines running and meet urgent needs created by the freeze in US foreign aid.
Every dollar you give to fuel Edesia’s production lines will be matched by a generous donor—up to $3.5 million—creating $7 million in life-saving support.
